Terms & Conditions
1. HIRE PERIOD
The initial hire period is four weeks with a complimentary fifth week allowed for photography, etc. The hire period will be automatically extended after the expiry date unless written notice is received by House Dressings seven days prior to the end of the initial hire period or any subsequent extended period.
2. INITIAL HIRE FEE
The Hirer will pay the agreed fee one week prior to delivery of the Showhome package. No refund of the initial hire fee will be given should the Hirer request cancellation/removal during the initial hire period.
3. EXTENSIONS TO HIRE PERIOD
At completion of initial hire period the contract will be automatically renewed in periods of one week at the same weekly rate as the initial hire fee. During that time, the Hirer authorises House Dressings to deduct weekly payments in advance from the Hirer’s nominated Credit Card account until the Hirer notifies House Dressings of the termination of the hire period. Seven days’ prior notice of cancellation must be given to House Dressings, and the Hirer will be liable for payment of the hire fee until the notice period expires. The Hirer further undertakes to ensure that funds will be available in the credit card account for all additional charges until the termination of the hire period.
4. PAYMENT DEFAULT
In the event of a default of payment, House Dressings will take recovery action including but not limited to: removal of furniture, debt collection action, court and legal fees, and charge interest on outstanding debt at the rate of 1% per month. All costs incurred will payable by the Hirer.
5. DAMAGED OR MISSING ITEMS
The Hirer shall keep all items in the Showhome package in good and clean condition and should damage occur or items go missing, agree to pay the charges required to return the damaged items to good condition or reimburse missing items at the normal retail price.
The Showhome package shall remain at the same address until notification of termination of the contract and the Hirer shall not remove or permit removal of any items of the Showhome package from the premises as detailed under delivery address. Furthermore, the Hirer agrees not to move the items in the Showhome package from the positions in which they were placed unless agreed to by House Dressings.
Upon signing this contract by both parties, the Hirer shall supply entry keys, alarm codes and access details to enable House Dressings or its agent free entry to the property at such times as they may require.
8. DISPLAY USE
The Hirer agrees that the furnishings are for display use only. House Dressings may during the term of contract, change items at their discretion substituting changed items with similar or more compatible items.
9. PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL
The Hirer agrees to allow House Dressings to display promotional materials in the home.
10. INSURANCE of GOODS and FURNISHINGS

- All goods and furnishings, while at the address, shall be insured by the Hirer
- The property has an unmonitored alarm system and the Hirer agrees to pay $150 to House Dressings for insurance
- The property has a monitored alarm system, so there is no charge to the Hirer for insurance
11. SCOPE OF WORK
House Dressings shall include in the contract price delivery and pick up of the Showhome package. Placement of items in the delivery address shall be at House Dressing’s discretion.
Artwork, mirrors, pictures, where requested to be fitted and any subsequent damage to walls, etc to which they are affixed, will be at the Hirer’s cost for rectification. Flooring areas where indentations, defects, blemishes, scratches or stains are left after removal of furniture/furnishings are at the Hirer’s risk.
Cancellation of Showhome agreement prior to installation of the Showhome package will attract an administration fee equal to 30% of the total value of the initial hire fee.
14. CREDIT REPORTING
The Hirer authorises and directs House Dressings to obtain and pass on any information concerning the credit or business standing of the Hirer from any organisation or agency whatever, and directs any such person to supply such information to House Dressings. Furthermore, authorisation is extended to Credit Agencies to store and have such information available to the Agency and other subscribers using credit reporting services provided by Credit Agencies via their respective databases. The Hirer is entitled to have access to and to request correction of personal information concerning the Hirer obtained by House Dressings.
